 On any given Saturday or Sunday you’ll find colourful market stalls lining the grounds of churches and schools in most suburbs on the Central Coast selling everything from home made sweets to antique furniture.
Here we list the best the Coast has to offer. - Avoca Beach Growers Markets
Southend Park Crn Avoca Drive & Vale Ave, Avoca Beach The Avoca Beach Growers Market is held on the 1st Sunday of every month from 8am until 12pm. The fresh produce markets sell everything from hand made sweets and jams through to farm produced cheeses, meats, wine and fruits. Cut out the middlemen and grab your tucker direct from the farmers.
- Beachcomber Boutique Markets
Beachcomber Resort Main Road, Toukley This favoured Central Coast watering hole transforms into a shopper’s paradise on the 4th Sunday of every month from 9am until 4pm. The Beachie Markets boast everything from jewellery and fashion to arts and craft.
- Budgewoi Lions Village Markets
Noela Place, Budgewoi Hosted on the first Sunday of every month, these markets sell cut-price plants, used bric-a-brac and antiques, and local handicrafts. There’s also food stalls and fresh produce.
- Davistown Markets
Davistown RSL Murna Road, Davistown As the saying goes “one man’s trash, is another’s treasure.” Hosted on the third Sunday of each month these charity markets are the ultimate trash and treasure trove. Poke about at old books, bric-a-brac, clothes and craft. The undercover markets are open from 9.30am until 2pm.
- Ettalong Markets
Ocean View Road, Ettalong Follow the labyrinth of stalls that make up these weird and wacky markets. A trawl through the 150 stalls is a great day out for locals, but many of its visitors are day-trippers from Sydney who have caught the ferry over from Palm Beach. Held every Saturday and Sunday the Ettalong Markets are open from 9am until 4pm.
- Gosford Markets
Gosford Showground Showground Road, Gosford Commencing on September 6, 2009, the Gosford Markets will be held on the first Sunday of every month from 9am until 3pm.
- Kincumber Markets
Kincumber Public School Avoca Drive, Kincumber Hosted on the fourth Saturday of every month from 9am until 3pm the Kincumber Markets are a great place to pick up a bargain. With more than 90 stalls you’ll find handcrafted clothing and jewellery, candles and local artistic creations. There’s also live entertainment and gourmet food.
- Mangrove Mountain Markets
Heritage Community Hall Corner Wiseman’s Ferry Rd and Waratah Rd, Mangrove Mountain Have a psychic reading, a Dagwood dog and browse over 60 stalls of bric-a-brac, arts and craft. There’s also kid’s entertainment, fresh produce and flower stalls.
- Point Clare Charity Market
Brisbane Water Drive, Point Clare Fairhaven’s Point Clare Charity markets are held quarterly and boast a variety of stalls, food outlets and live entertainment. Stallholders begin setting up from 7am. (Check events calendar for dates)
- Terrigal Markets
Terrigal Primary School Havenview Road, Terrigal With it’s steady stream of tourists, day-trippers and café hoppers, the Terrigal Markets are bustling but well worth the crowds. Find hand made baby clothes, plants, jewellery, original artwork, vintage clothing and much, much more. Hosted on the second Saturday of each month from 9am until 3pm.
- The Entrance Farmers Market
Memorial Park Marine Parade, The Entrance Find everything from freshly baked bread to just caught seafood at this comprehensive fresh produce market. Held rain, hail or shine on the 3rd Saturday of each month down by the shoreline at Memorial Park, The Entrance.
- The Entrance Lions Club Markets
Denning Street Car Park, The Entrance There is a steady crowd of shoppers at these popular markets held every Sunday from 7.30am until 12.30pm. Boasting everything from used books, antiques, crocheted booties and bric-a-brac, the thing that keeps locals coming back is the bargain basement prices.
- Toukley Markets
Coles Car Park Yaralla Road, Toukley At first glance these markets may seem a little junkie. But sort through the messy array of unwanted household items and stuffed animals you are almost certain to bag a rare find. There’s everything from antiques to designer handbags at this car park sale.
- Wyee Markets
Wyee Community Hall Wyee Rd, Wyee Hosted on the second Saturday of each month the Wyee Markets has more than 30 stalls and helps to raise money for the Community Hall and Rural Fire Service.
