Brisbane Water National Park

Situated between the bustling residential hubs of Woy Woy and Gosford this national park boasts majestic views of the Hawkesbury River, Brisbane Water and Broken Bay. Set over more than 12,000 hectares of rugged sandstone country, the park is a great place to go bushwalking and sightseeing with several Aboriginal rock engravings located within its boundaries.

Bouddi National Park
The Bouddi National Park has a series of small, secluded beaches that lay beneath spectacular forests and rocky cliffs. The five-hour Bouddi Coastal Walk attracts many visitors to the park, boasting breathtaking views along its 8.1km track. The park is also a favourite spot for geologists who come to marvel at the brilliant sandstone rock formations. Park entry fees are $7 per car. Beaches include Little Beach, Putty Beach, Tallow Beach and Maitland Bay.

Dharug National Park
Home to the convict-built Old Great North Road the Dharug National Park is a popular bushwalking and camping area. It is located on the northern side of the Hawkesbury River and spans more than 15,000 hectares.

Munmorah State Recreation Area
Located between Budgewoi and Catherine Hill Bay, the Mumorah State Recreation Area is one of the Central Coast’s best kept secrets. Locals in the know flock to the pristine beaches in summer to avoid the tourist crowds to either surf or swim. It also boasts one of the State’s best camp spots which overlooks beautiful Snapper Point.

Popran National Park
Rich in Aboriginal history the Popran National Park was reportedly home to the Dharug and Guringai Aboriginal people for more than 11,000 years and conserves many important Aboriginal sites with rock engravings, paintings and axe grinding groves evident throughout the park.

Watagan National Park
Located north of Morriset the Watagan National Park covers more than 7,75o hectares and is a popular spot for mountain bike riders. Sightseers also frequent the park to view the stunning mountain ranges within its borders.

Wyrrabalong National Park
This National Park is divided into two sections and conserves of the last significant beachfront rainforest on the entire Central Coast. The northern end of the Park is located on the North Entrance Peninsula and conserves the Divided into two sections by The Entrance township, Wyrrabalong National Park encompasses 480 hectares of the sand barrier that separates Tuggerah Lake from the Pacific Ocean. There are several bushwalking tracks within its boundary which are accessed via Wilfred Barrett Drive. The 130 Hectare southern section of the Park runs along the coastline from Blue Lagoon to Forresters Beach and boasts spectacular ocean views.

Yengo National Park
The majority of tracks within the Yengo National Park are 4WD so leave the sports car at home. Stretching along the foot of the Great Dividing Range park is a wild expanse of bushland and rugged sandstone escarpments set between Wisemans Ferry and the Hunter Valley.
