Central Coast surfer carves it up at Roxy Pro

Central Coast surfer Amee Donohoe has advanced to the third round of the Roxy Pro in inconsistent waves at Snapper Rocks on the Gold Coast.

It is a great start to the 2010 season for the MacMasters Beach surfer who returns from a knee injury.

Donohoe placed second in her opening heat of the season behind Hawaii’s Melanie Bartels.

Thousands flock to Central Coast beaches as Australian tsunami threat looms

The threat of a tsunami hitting the east coast of Australia has abated however warnings to stay out of the water remain in place.

Rising seas have been recorded in Norfolk Island, Southport in Tasmania and now Port Kembla in the New South Wales Illawarra, the Joint Australian Tsunami Warning Centre (JATWC) reports.

Man stabbed to death at Wamberal

Police have charged a woman with the stabbing murder of a man overnight at Wamberal.
 
Shortly after 12.15am today, police from the Brisbane Water Local Area Command and ambulance paramedics were called to a unit in Bundara Avenue.

Police allegedly located the body of a 27-year-old man lying on the floor of the lounge room with a stab wound to the chest.

Central Coast mum charged with murder
Central Coast mother Allyson McConnell (nee Meager) has been charged with murdering her two young sons after their bodies were found dead in the bathtub of their Canadian home earlier this month.Mrs McConnell, 31, from Gosford, was involved in a bitter custody dispute with her Canadian husband, Curtis McConnell.
Car crashes into Kanwal Medical Centre
An elderly couple had a lucky escape after their car crashed through a barrier and down a four metre embankment at the Kanwal Medical Centre this morning.The silver Hyundai hatchback hung precariously above the walkway leading to several specialist surgeries at the bustling Central Coast medical complex.
Second Central Coast drowning in less than 48 hours
Police on the Central Coast will prepare a report for the Coroner after a man drowned at North Entrance beach.It was the second drowning in the region in as many days following the drowning of a fisherman at Copacabana Beach on Friday.
Fisherman drowns at Copacabana Beach
Police will prepare a report for the New South Wales Coroner following the death of a rock fisherman on the Central Coast. At about 12.20pm yesterday the 28-year-old Zimbabwe National was swept into the water while fishing from rocks at Wynnie Bay, about two kilometres north of Copacabana Beach.

Central Coast surfer Dane Atchison has eliminated American ASP World Tour surfer Tanner Gudauskas in one of the biggest upsets of the Breaka Burleigh Surf Pro on the Gold Coast.The Avoca Beach board rider placed second behind Queensland’s Noah Lane to advance to the third round of the international competition.
