It is a great start to the 2010 season for the MacMasters Beach surfer who returns from a knee injury. Donohoe placed second in her opening heat of the season behind Hawaii’s Melanie Bartels. |

 The threat of a tsunami hitting the east coast of Australia has abated however warnings to stay out of the water remain in place. Rising seas have been recorded in Norfolk Island, Southport in Tasmania and now Port Kembla in the New South Wales Illawarra, the Joint Australian Tsunami Warning Centre (JATWC) reports. |

 Police have charged a woman with the stabbing murder of a man overnight at Wamberal.
Shortly after 12.15am today, police from the Brisbane Water Local Area Command and ambulance paramedics were called to a unit in Bundara Avenue. Police allegedly located the body of a 27-year-old man lying on the floor of the lounge room with a stab wound to the chest. |
